Fees and Payment
Psychotherapy Services and Fees
I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation, by phone or at my office, during which you'll provide an overview of the issues that bring you to therapy. This will also give us a chance to see how we might work together.
In the first full session we'll talk in greater detail and review your history. Sessions generally last 50 minutes. Arrangements can be made in advance for extended sessions, which is often recommended for couples.
Payment is due at the beginning of each session and can be made by check, cash, or credit card (MC/V). Cancellations must be made by phone at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session. A Monday appointment will need to be cancelled on the preceding Friday. Appointments that are not cancelled within 24 hours will be billed the full amount.

Insurance
I am out-of-network for all insurance plans. I provide clients with statements containing the required information for out-of-network fee reimbursement from their insurance company. Clients are responsible for submitting reimbursement requests as well as interacting with their insurance company regarding psychotherapy services.
The decision whether to use insurance should consider not only financial concerns, but privacy and availability of services as well. Insurance plans require personal and medical information to be shared, require a mental disorder diagnosis, and limit therapy services to those they consider to be "medically necessary."
As insurance plans vary widely, clients planning to use insurance should be familiar with their plan's coverage. Questions to consider are: Does my plan have mental health benefits and if so, how many outpatient visits do I get per calendar year? Is pre-authorization required? Does the plan reimburse me if I see out-of-network providers, and if so, how much is reimbursed for each visit? Is there a deductible and if so, how much of my deductible have I met?

Fees for corporate services are negotiated with each client organization.
