Specialties
In addition to my general practice [see below], there are certain areas that I have chosen to specialize in. This means I have had, and I continue to receive, specialized education and training to stay on top of the "state-of-the-art" in knowledge about, and ways to address, such issues. These areas of expertise include:
Sexual orientation and identity-- a particular interest of mine [see Publications page], includes questioning, exploring, addressing stigma, negotiating gay, lesbian, bisexual, and other non-heterosexual orientations and identities
Gender identity-- includes gender questioning, gender expression, transition, identity, and addressing transgender-related stigma
Couples and relationships-- includes communication, partnering styles, and conflict resolution for different-sex, same-sex, and mixed-orientation (gay/straight) couples.
Women's issues-- includes self-esteem, assertiveness, codependency, boundary issues, identity
